Deep in the Namib, the oldest desert in the world, the resort is part of a large 12,715-hectare (31,419-acre) area. The quiet atmosphere and clear light in this place, surrounded by dunes, rocky areas, and gravel plains, make it one of the most special views in Africa.
The resort is next to the NamibRand Nature Reserve’s International Dark Sky Reserve, so the night skies are very clear. It feels like a painting and helps you reconnect with nature and yourself.
At Sossusvlei, caring for the environment and comfort go together. Along the curve of the escarpment, ten well-designed stone and glass suites offer changing views of the desert.
Each large, air-conditioned suite has a private plunge pool, a living room with a fireplace, a large skylight above the bed, and a private bathroom with a glass rain shower that gives a 180° view of the desert. The two-bedroom Star Dune Suite is a good option for families or groups of friends.
The guest area has two levels and is made of steel, rock, and glass. Large sliding glass panels give wide views of the desert. A central bar, a comfortable sitting area, a walk-in wine room, an open kitchen, and a rim-flow pool are some of the features.
There is also a gym that faces the sunrise and a health center that faces the sunset. The health center includes a treatment room with a private spa bath and a separate wet-room spa.
