This unique winery, one of the driest in the world, sits at the edge of the Namib Desert and is tucked away in the foothills of the Naukluft Mountains. Tall palm trees and freshwater springs complete this peaceful place where real Namibian wines are made.
Neuras offers a range of activities that show off the wild landscape, vineyards, cheetahs, freshwater springs, and desert sunsets. Visitors can also learn about the N/a’an ku sê Foundation’s important conservation work while enjoying handmade, organic wines and other products.
Neuras is a great place to stay overnight, as it is only 80 kilometers from Sossusvlei, one of Namibia’s most visited places.
Since Neuras runs fully on solar power, air conditioners are not available. Each room has a standing fan and mosquito shutters to let in a cool breeze during the warmer months.
Each of the six stone chalets at Neuras Rustic Chalets has its own balcony and private bathroom. Each chalet has a desk, a double wardrobe, a fan, and a bathroom, and can sleep two people.
Neuras Luxury Suites include one unit with a bedroom, two ¾ beds, a sleeper couch, a private bathroom, kitchen, and lounge area with braai (barbecue) facilities outside. Another unit has a bedroom with two ¾ beds, a kitchen with a fridge, and a lounge area with braai facilities outside.
Neuras Canvas Safari Tents offer a real bushveld experience. Each of the 18 private canvas tents has two single beds, with shared bathrooms nearby. The tents are about a ten-minute walk from the lodge.
Wine Tour & Tasting
Take a guided walk through the vineyards, passing by palm trees and natural water springs. Learn about the farm’s history and how the grapes are cared for each year. When you arrive at the wine cellar, we explain how our wine is made from start to finish. The tour ends with a full tasting of Neuras wines at the lodge restaurant, served with a cheese board.
Wine Tasting & Cheese Platter
Enjoy Neuras wines and a cheese platter at the lodge restaurant, which overlooks one of the vineyards. We explain the basic winemaking process and the types of grapes used for each wine.
Cheetah Experience
Seven cheetahs, rescued from dangerous situations, now live at Neuras in a safe and natural way. In their 35-hectare enclosure, visitors can observe them and learn about their behavior, background, why they are important to Namibia, and the challenges they face in the wild.
Sun-downer Excursion
Enjoy a slow drive through Honey Canyon, with stops to take photos of the land and plants. The trip ends with snacks and drinks of your choice in a perfect spot to watch the sunset.
