Located on top of old sand dunes, Namib Dune Star Camp offers wide views of the Namib Desert. It is best described as a soft adventure camp that combines simple comfort—like hot showers and good beds—with the feeling of being out in the desert. The small camp has nine cottages, each placed far apart from the others. Every cottage has a large bedroom, a deck, and a private bathroom.
The rooms have a double bed that can be rolled out for sleeping under the stars. Extra blankets are available for cold winter nights spent outside. The cabin also has a fixed single bed, making it a good choice for families or friends.
For open views of the desert, visit the large central terrace at the end of the day. Enjoy a drink while the sun makes the desert glow with golden light.
After sunset, a tasty dinner is served under the starry sky. Namib Dune Star Camp is eco-friendly and was built to have a very small impact on the land. Water is taken from a nearby borehole, and the cottages use solar power for lights and hot water. Everything else is left to nature. Guests are encouraged to walk carefully on the fragile desert ground and use resources wisely.

A night at Namib Dune Star Camp is full of simple joy. However, guests are kindly asked to bring only a small overnight bag for the stay. It is difficult to carry heavy bags up the dunes.
