Visiting Sossusvlei in June – Weather, Wildlife & Travel Tips

Sossusvlei in June

The climate in Namib-Naukluft National Park is hot, dry, and rarely rainy. Summer temperatures can go above 38°C (100°F), while winter nights can be very cold and sometimes drop below freezing.

Even though it rains a little in summer, this is considered the rainy season (November to April). The dry season is during winter, from May to October.

The park has different altitudes, which cause changes in temperature. The Sossusvlei area is at a lower altitude and can get very hot. The Naukluft Mountains are higher and usually cooler.

June is a good time to visit Sossusvlei, Namibia.

It is a good month for safaris and seeing the desert because the weather is mostly dry and sunny, with cool nights. The days are warm but not as hot as in summer.
