The Desert Grace – Modern Lodge with Private Plunge Pools Near Sossusvlei

The Desert Grace

A bright, modern lodge with wide views of Namib-Naukluft National Park and a simple, stylish design. Desert Grace manages to be a fresh and modern lodge right in the middle of the wild desert, something that is not very common.

You can see the lodge’s colorful décor everywhere. Hanging baskets are full of green plants, glassware and Smeg kettles are all light pink, and a soft ostrich-shaped lamp shines in the welcome area.

This modern style is just the beginning of the beautiful views at the lodge. At sunset, the large Namibian sky turns orange, pink, purple, and then dark blue, showing the Southern Cross in the sky.

At the same time, the orange-brown desert rocks glow like fire. You might look up for a long time from the sunken pool or from your chalet’s porch, before sitting on a leather stool at the bar to enjoy a pink-colored margarita.

A neon sign that says “One Night In Namibia” flashes on the wall. But remember, you are still in the desert. This lodge, opened in 2018, is the first Gondwana lodge made fully with sandbags instead of bricks. This helps the environment and keeps the 24 rooms better cooled and warmed.

The reception area, inspired by 1960s Wes Anderson films, greets you with smooth finishes and playful touches. The lodge offers a different kind of experience. With the pink “One Night In Namibia” sign glowing, the dining and bar area also have a special look.

When you walk into your chalet, soft colors welcome you. Your private plunge pool is just behind a sliding door, and the minibar has the perfect gin and tonic ready.

If you have only “one night in Namibia,” think about spending it at The Desert Grace, where the calm rhythm of the desert stays with you as the sun sets and prepares you for a new day.
