Elegant Desert Lodge is located 38 kilometers from the Namib Naukluft Park entrance and is set in peaceful countryside. All guests, including children, are welcome—so bring yourself, your family, or your friends, and the kind staff will make you feel at home.
The Elegant Desert Eco Camp, the newest part of the lodge, is a good choice for guests who want a more simple, nature-based experience. The camp has ten new tented units in the Namib Desert, surrounded by the Tsaris Mountains and wide gravel plains.
All the camp’s appliances, including the hot and cold water heaters, run on solar power all day and night. There is also a central pool with a deck to relax during the hot part of the day.
Many activities are available to keep you busy and entertained, such as game drives, guided and unguided walks, quad biking, and half-day trips to Sossusvlei. From your room or while eating at the restaurant, you can enjoy watching animals gather near the waterhole.
With 29 rooms, Elegant Desert Lodge offers different types of places to stay. The rooms have a modern and simple style, giving you a quiet space to relax. There are four family units that sleep four people and twenty-five double rooms. All rooms have air conditioning and tea and coffee stations.
Elegant Desert Eco Camp has ten tents with private bathrooms, offering guests a comfortable stay. These large 85-square-meter canvas tents include an outside deck, a big bathroom, both indoor and outdoor showers, and a small cool box as a minibar. If you like, you can move your bed to the terrace to sleep under the stars and wake up to peaceful views.
Finally, the large sundowner deck and mountaintop rock pool offer beautiful views of the surrounding area. The camp runs on its own power and water and is fully off the grid.
