Little Kulala – Luxury Lodge with Private Access to Sossusvlei

Little Kulala

The most luxurious place to stay on the 210 km² private Kulala Wilderness Reserve is Little Kulala. It has its own entrance to Sossusvlei and Namib-Naukluft National Park. The well-known Namib Desert dunes in the distance and the Naukluft Mountains in the background create a strong setting for the gravel plains and soft sand dunes in front of the lodge.

We are glad to know that there were plans to upgrade Little Kulala in 2017, even though it may not look as new as it did when first built. Still, it has a special and interesting design, and its neat interiors are nice to look at.

If you can take a break from the comfort, this lodge is very relaxing and has a private entry into the Namib-Naukluft, making it a good place to start your visit.

All parts of Wilderness Little Kulala are quiet and private. Sossusvlei invites visitors with its calm, views, and experiences. You can reach the well-known dunes of Sossusvlei and the open area of Dead Vlei through a gate for private use.

Visit the Namib Sand Sea World Heritage Site and climb the 300-meter-tall red dunes. Take a hot-air balloon ride over the world’s oldest desert. Explore the desert using quad bikes with low impact, e-bikes, or go on nature walks and drives.

The inside design of Little Kulala uses colors like pink and gray from the local limestone, showing the land’s geology and what makes this part of Namibia special. See desert animals such as Namibia’s rare dune lark, black-backed jackals, bat-eared foxes, ostriches, springboks, gemsboks, and sometimes even an aardwolf.

While watching the stars at night in one of the darkest skies in the world, think about space and your place in it.

Walk into Sesriem Canyon to get a great view of the deep valley formed many years ago. Ride an electric fatbike and enjoy the nice views. Discover another side of the Namib Desert after sunset.

Learn about stars and planets under the clear night sky, or take a walk to see interesting animals like scorpions that glow in the dark.
